The final step to fully automating your gates is to select the type(s) of access control equipment you wish to use to control the automation of your electric gates. At Mister Gates we pride ourselves on keeping up to date with the latest technology. If you are unsure what access control equipment would best suit your requirements or what products are available to you then one of engineers will be happy to advise you on the system that would be most beneficial and why.

The different option available for your access controlled gates are:

1. Audio Intercoms
2. Visual Intercoms
3. Digital Code Entry Pads
4. Hand Transmitters
5. Induction loops
6. 24/7 Timers
7. Push Buttons
8. Proximity Readers
9. Backup Battery
10. Swipe Cards

Audio Entry

The audio entry system is one of the most popular ways to control access of your gates because using audio is an effective way to communicate with who is at the your gates from the comfort of your home living room or kitchen. A majority of intercoms are hardwired however here at Mister Gates we offer the latest technology in access controlled gates, which is where we introduce the modern RF intercoms these units run on a radio frequency meaning there are no cables needed to connect the external unit to the handsets. All intercoms have the facility of a digital entry pad and a trade button(see below)

Video Entry

The visual entry system is one of the most high tech ways of providing your access control. The Video entry systems work by installing an intercom with a camera which also facilitates a digipad and/or trades button(see 4. Digital pad for more information). Then as the person at your gates presses the buzzer you can activate the monitoring equipment and a picture of the person outside will be displayed on your internal handset. If required you can speak to the person by picking up the phone attached to the monitor and granting access through a simple press of a button.

This option is the most secure option for access control because by viewing the persons face you can be sure of who it is your speaking to. The video entry is one of the more expensive ways to access control gates.

Push Buttons

Push Button for Electric gates
Push buttons or door releases are another option for your access controlled gates, they work by commanding the gates at the push of a button, these buttons can be used for entry and exit and can also be used in conjuction with a 24/7 timer, the timer allows you to make the push buttons dormant for specified timed periods (for example 10pm-7am) so that access cannot be gained using the button during these times.

24/7 Timers
24/7 timers are devices that can open and close your gates at anytime you wish. Once the commands have been programmed into the 24/7 timer your gates will open and close at what ever times you have specified. For example if you work a 9 until 5 job and leave the house ever weekday morning at 8:30 the timer can be set to open your gates at 8:20 and close at 8:40 monday to friday and the exact same can be set up for when you arrive home.

Digital Pads

Digital pads work by commanding the gates when a preset 4 digit code has been entered. Digital pads are used in most cases of access controlled gates because they act as a back up in case the home owner has forget to take a button handset with them. They are also a more economical way of granting access to your gates if they have many users for instance a block of apartments or an office block.

Hand Transmitters

Hand Transmitters work by pressing a button on the handset to control the gates. When arriving home from work they are very useful because the home owner does not have to get out of the comfort of their car to open the gates it only takes a simple touch of a button, you can have as many transmitters as require for your gates.

Induction Loops

(Click For Large Image)

Induction Loops are one of the most convenient ways to access control gates. The induction loop is placed into the ground about 5-10 meters away from your gates and when a car or motorcycle rides over the loop it integrates with the magnetic field which is then picked up by the loop detector which proceeds to command your gates.

Proximity Readers

A proximity reader will automatically open your gates once it has sensed that your car is within a curtain predefined distance from it. once at this distance that reader will automatically open your gates. This isn't as safe as some of the other options but is more convenient.

Swipe Cards

Swipe cards use a magnetic strip that, like a credit card, to store a code to open the gates. Once the correct card has been swiped through a card sensor the gates will open.

Battery Backup

A battery backup is an overlooked accessory by many people. A battery backup will supply power to your gates in the eventuality that there is a power cut.

All of the various ways to access control gates can be laid out for you by are approved engineers. We will find the correct type of system to access control your gates and to meet your requirements. A FREE site survey will determine your requirements and the correct GiBiDi equipment to use will be quoted.
